Faith is very often confused with belief and hope. It is neither though both belief and hope depend on faith to operate. Faith is not seeing. It is also a present and future issue. Knowing and doing the will of God without faith is impossible.
Hope is very similar but is uncertain. The will of God Hope is a may be and a dream. You can work with a hope of achieving something. Hope bases the outcome on human work and effort.
Belief is a set of dogmas or doctrines that you base your worldview, religion, and lifestyle on. It is mostly theoretical like what do you believe etc. I believe in this and that. It is a result of study and reflection.
However, faith is simply beyond these. It is certain about an uncertain future. It depends on God’s ability and not human. Knowing and doing the will of God is not possible through human logic.
It is the nature of faith to contradict known data. That is when it moves from the natural to supernatural realm. Faith defeats all human reasoning. Logic does not work in the faith realm.
When you have this kind of faith then you can move mountains. The bible says nothing is impossible for those who have faith. How do we achieve this faith? Knowing and doing the will of God teaches you that faith alone can bring you to God.
You cannot work this faith by going to school or reading books. No one can really teach you this. You have to have this. The bible says without faith it is impossible to please God. He who comes to him must believe he exists. This is where faith begins.
You cannot see God; most of us cannot hear him. Then how do you put your faith in something that you cannot see or hear. Logic of the humans tells us you cannot. So you move from the logic realm to the non-logic realm. You cannot reason it. It may sound bizarre but that is exactly how it works.
Jesus said unless you become like little children you will not enter into the kingdom of God. Their logic is not like an adult. Many questions that children ask, that simply baffle us. Knowing and doing the will of God begins with this child like faith.
Children have faith in the parents. There is no logic invoked in their faith. As children, they have the innocence intact and their corrupt logic has not influenced them. God is talking about that faith.
Adults do not have faith in anything unless it proved. We need to see it works before we can put our faith in anything. The corrupt nature from Satan has infiltrated our minds. We think we have become wise but on the contrary, we became fools. Knowing and doing the will of God will teach you that.
